Kata
Kata can be considered simply as an excellent exercise. However it is derived from fighting experiences as a way to mark out skills that would be useful to learn. In some ways it can be considered similar to shadow boxing.
Although learning kata itself will not produce self defence skills, its study can lead to discovering the many connections between parrying, sparring, grappling, takedowns and ground work. By learning both kata and the practical application we develop the understanding of these connections.
As an organisation, we look to maintain, develop and possibly add to our present list of katas.
