The Russell Trophy

In 2018, BMAC created a club award to recognise achievements by our members. The club unanimously agreed to name the award The Russell Trophy, as a thank-you for everything that Hugh and Jackie have done for us over the years.
This unique trophy is a sculpture of a bonsai tree on a custom-made base. The bonsai tree represents many elements of martial arts – energy, inner strength, wisdom, calm, balance, evolution and harmonious group activity.
Club members vote for the recipient every six months, with winners being considered as displaying six key characteristics
